Description
A Great Blue Heron wades in the quite and calm waters of a wetland pond at Huntley Meadows Park in search of fish. This Heron lost part of one foot to a snapping turtle last year and sometimes has difficulty balancing itself as it wades through the waters. However it has been successful in its survival and is seen here extracting a golden prize from the water as a diffused morning light illuminates the scene as calm winds allows a vivid reflection to be cast. The park is located in Fairfax County Virginia.
