Description
My 1,000 post to my FAA portfolio is an April 4, 2020 capture of this female Pileated Woodpecker taken outside my backyard window in Woodbridge Virginia. My oldest daughter who is now 26 named her Petrie after the cartoon character in a movie she enjoyed as a child called Land Before Time

Fantastic capture, Art!!!! I'm in awe!!!! We had a pair of these in our old neighborhood and I'm ashamed to say we heard them ... for a few years ... before we ever caught sight of them!!! What a fun surprise the day I finally spotted them ... high heels, stockings and a dress ... clutching my Nikon and the 500mm and off I went into the brambles and exposed roots to get the shots!!! Nothing like this, though!!!! Awesome look at his crest all perked up!!!! I love it!!!! Congratulations on the shot and on your 1000th image!!!! l/f t and p

Thank you and it sounds like you don't let anything stop you from getting the shot, LOL.
